Anne Liu

Pianist/Artist
Anne Liu, a distinguished Young Steinway Artist, has captivated audiences worldwide with her profound musicality, virtuosic prowess, and remarkable range of colors. In the early stages of her career, Liu graced prestigious stages across the globe, delivering solo recitals in prominent cities and music festivals. Her performances have resonated in renowned venues such as the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall in New York City, New World Center in Miami and the Harris Concert Hall in Aspen. Liu's artistry has also found expression in international settings, including appearances at the Lake Como Summer Festival in Italy and the Concert Halls in China.

In recognition of her exceptional talent, Anne Liu was named a 2019 Presidential Scholar in the Arts, garnering honors from both the President of the United States at the White House and the Secretary of Education at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. She has won top prizes in numerous prestigious competitions, including the Musical Merit Competition, where she secured the Grand Prize and Full Scholarships to the Aspen Music Festival and School.


Her accolades also include winning the 2018 Davidson Fellow Scholarship, where she was one of two musicians nationwide to receive this esteemed recognition along with Presidential Recognition. Liu was also invited to perform on the NPR "From The Top" Show in 2019. She received the Young Musicians Foundation David Weiss Memorial Scholarship. She is also a top prize winner of the 8th Bosendorfer and Yamaha USASU International Young Artist Piano Competition. the Los Angeles International Young Musician Competition, the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition and a special prize for overall best performance of “Opera Paraphrase or Transcription” in all categories, and the Grossmont Music Competition etc.

Liu made her concerto debut at the age of 12, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the San Diego Great Orchestra. Since then, she has collaborated with orchestras such as the South Coast Symphony, the Southern California Philharmonic, the La Jolla Symphony and Ningbo Symphony Orchestra. She was also sharing the stage with world-class musicians, including Tony Award Winner Mr. Christian Hoff.

Beyond her solo and orchestral endeavors, Liu is an active chamber musician, frequently engaging in benefit concerts for retirement communities and charities. Her commitment to musical excellence is further underscored by her participation in masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Maestro Menahem Pressler, Maestro Dmitri Bashkirov, Maestro Yefim Bronfman,
 Maestro Arie Vardi, Maestro André Laplante, Maestro William Grant Naboré, Maestro Stanislav Ioudenitch, Ms. Olga Kern and Maestro John O'Conor.

Originally hailing from San Diego, California, Anne Liu's musical journey began at the age of four, and by seven, she had already given her debut solo recital. She earned her bachelor's degree from Columbia University. Liu pursued piano studies through the Columbia-Juilliard Joint Program at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Mr. Hung-Kuan Chen. Recently, she received her Master's degree from the New England Conservatory under the guidance of pianist Alessio Bax. 
Currently, she is dedicated to advancing her Doctoral degree at USC Thornton School of Music.
